Crypto.com in Singapore is easy to misunderstand because the brand is bigger than the licensee. The app, the exchange view, the Visa card and the Prime programme are related products sitting on more than one Singapore company. Only one of those companies is the Digital Payment Token (DPT) Major Payment Institution you are sending SGD to when you buy a token.

That DPT company is Foris DAX Asia Pte. Ltd. (UEN 201917495R), listed on the Monetary Authority of Singapore Financial Institutions Directory for Digital Payment Token Service, with an office at 128 Beach Road. This review is a reading of the retail SGD product as of 30 September 2026. It is not a recommendation to buy any token or to take a card.

Foris DAX Asia, not “the Crypto.com group”

Look up FORIS DAX ASIA PTE. LTD. on the directory. You want Payments, Major Payment Institution, Digital Payment Token Service. The Singapore site and the Prime terms name this company as the provider of DPT services under the Payment Services Act 2019. If an onboarding screen names a different Foris entity for the trade itself, stop.

The Visa card is issued and distributed by Foris Asia Pte. Ltd., which holds its own MPI for e-money issuance, account issuance and money-transfer services. That is a payments product. It is not a reason to treat token balances as spendable cash, and it is not the DPT licence.

Crypto.com’s own Singapore pages reprint the statutory risk warning. Foris DAX Asia is licensed for DPT service; that does not mean you recover everything if the firm fails. MAS does not supervise the company for unregulated services, and the warning text explicitly mentions DPT derivatives such as futures. If a screen offers those, it is outside the DPT MPI story.

The licence-check walk-through is the same process as for Independent Reserve or Coinbase. Brand confidence is not a field in the directory.

App, exchange view, Prime

Retail customers in Singapore live in the Crypto.com app. You create an SGD account, complete Singpass (or manual KYC) and the risk-awareness assessment, then deposit. The app’s market-order buttons are convenient and, like every consumer screen, can hide spread. There is also an exchange-style view with published maker-taker rates — Crypto.com has marketed spot fees from about 0.08% maker and 0.18% taker, with the actual rate depending on 30-day volume and any tier the Singapore entity still honours. Price the screen you will use, not the best number in a blog.

Prime is a preferential programme. In the Singapore Prime terms it is provided by Foris DAX Asia and, on margin, is limited to verified accredited investors. Standard retail readers should ignore Prime’s zero-fee withdrawal and 5x margin marketing. MAS consumer-protection guidelines are the reason leverage is not a retail DPT feature. If a relationship manager offers you margin, the first question is whether you are an accredited investor under the local test, not whether the fee looks attractive.

CRO-related perks, card-tier staking and earn products change often and are the part of the brand most likely to collide with MAS retail-conduct expectations. If a perk requires you to lock tokens for a card tier, read the Singapore terms for that lock. Do not import a US or European perk table.

SGD in: PayNow and FAST

You cannot withdraw SGD until you have made at least one successful SGD deposit from the same bank. That single rule causes more support tickets than any fee.

In the app, open Deposit, then Cash or the SGD account. The screen gives you either a PayNow QR/UEN or FAST beneficiary details. Crypto.com’s help centre describes FAST deposits as zero-fee and usually credited in seconds. PayNow, where offered on your build of the app, is the more convenient of the two for a phone-only user. Use the reference the screen prints. Send from a Singapore bank account in your verified legal name. You may link more than one bank — Crypto.com mentions up to five for the SGD account — but each should still be yours.

FASTWithdrawalS$1.99; minimum S$50First withdrawal can sit in a 1–3 day review
FAST (Prime, AI only)WithdrawalAdvertised free, higher capsNot a retail default

Daily FAST withdrawal capacity for standard users is listed at S$200,000, with a S$2.7 million monthly cap. Those ceilings are far above a normal retail sale. The S$50 minimum and the S$1.99 fee are the numbers that actually bite on a S$400 withdrawal.

Do not deposit from Grab, Revolut or a corporate UEN. Do not write “crypto” in the bank reference. The bounce list is the same as every other MPI and is spelled out in how to deposit SGD into a crypto exchange.

Fees, spreads and the card distraction

A fair comparison is PayNow or FAST in at S$0, a spot fill at the exchange-view rate, and FAST out at S$1.99. On a S$2,000 round-trip that withdrawal fee is 0.1% — visible, but smaller than a sloppy app market order.

The expensive version of Crypto.com is: card-buy or an in-app convert at a wide spread, plus any foreign-currency residual, plus a card-tier lock you did not price. MAS guidelines tell DPT providers not to take locally issued credit cards from retail customers. If a card-buy button still appears, read whether it is a debit card and what the all-in SGD cost is.

Against Independent Reserve and Coinbase Advanced, Crypto.com’s exchange view can be competitive on maker-taker. Against those same books, the app’s one-tap convert is usually not. Run one identical S$1,000 bitcoin buy on each screen you are considering and write the SGD numbers down. That exercise is worth more than a CRO explainer.

Network fees on token withdrawals are extra. Travel-rule fields apply. A first crypto withdrawal to a new address may be delayed while compliance looks at it. That is normal for a licensee.

Custody and who it suits

Foris DAX Asia must safeguard customer DPT and, where it holds SGD, treat that money under MPI rules. That is not deposit insurance. The risk warning on the Singapore site is the sentence to believe. If you use the card, you are also holding e-money with Foris Asia; read that agreement too, because a card balance and a token balance fail in different ways.

Support is in-app, with a Singapore number listed on the directory for Foris DAX Asia (+65 6978 4632). First FAST withdrawals are the usual friction point: the help centre says most go in minutes after review, and that a first withdrawal can take one to three business days. Plan a sale around that, not around an emergency bill.

Crypto.com suits a Singapore resident who already lives in the app, will use the exchange view rather than the panic button, and accepts a S$1.99 FAST out. It suits people who want a wide token list on a licensed local counterparty. It is a poor fit if you cannot keep Foris DAX Asia and Foris Asia separate in your head, or if you came for retail leverage. In that second case, read the OKX Singapore review on what MAS actually allows a DPT licensee to show a retail customer.

For the rest of the set, the MAS-licensed retail shortlist is the index. Check the directory on the day you fund; group reorganisations are how people send PayNow to the wrong UEN.

Questions readers ask

Is Crypto.com licensed in Singapore?
The DPT business you trade on is provided by Foris DAX Asia Pte. Ltd., a Major Payment Institution on the MAS Financial Institutions Directory for Digital Payment Token Service. The Visa card is issued by Foris Asia Pte. Ltd., a different company with different licensed activities. Check both names if you use both products.
Can I use PayNow to fund Crypto.com in Singapore?
Yes. Singapore users can deposit SGD over PayNow or FAST into an SGD account inside the app. Crypto.com has described FAST deposits as zero-fee. Send only from a bank account in your verified name and use the details shown in the deposit screen.
What does Crypto.com charge to withdraw SGD?
The help centre, as of June 2026, lists a S$1.99 FAST withdrawal fee, a S$50 minimum, a S$200,000 daily cap and a S$2.7 million monthly cap for standard users. Prime, where offered to verified accredited investors, advertises zero-fee withdrawals at higher limits.
Is the Crypto.com card the same as the exchange?
No. Foris DAX Asia provides the DPT service. Foris Asia Pte. Ltd. issues the Visa card under a separate MPI for e-money and money-transfer activities. Card spend, cashback and staking-style perks are not a substitute for reading the DPT risk warning.
